You know that moment when in the depths of your Spirit you know God is up to something? You may not have any idea what it is but deep in your gut you have that little seed of excitement that is just trembling with anticipation, it is ready to burst. God has Tom and I on a journey this season, call it a Spiritual Road-trip if you will. I can feel this little burst of excitement resting in the pit of my gut just waiting with anticipation. As new things are revealed and new treasures are laid out in front of us, it builds and it grows. There has been a financial strain lately in our home and even in the midst of it God has been faithful. Everytime I would start to worry or stress out about it, I would hear Him say to me, Do I not value you more than the sparrow, is not my Love for you greater than the sands of the sea. Do not doubt my provision for you, for in doing so you are doubting my love. In the past I have always had this mentality that some of God's biblical principals didn't apply to me. They worked for Jim and Sally but not Tom and Jess. That God had amazing gifts for Fred and Wilma but not Tom and Jess. The danger in this "stinkin thinkin" (a friend of ours used to call it) is that we are missing out on the beautiful gifts and loving ways that He is loving on us because we are so busy with our eyes fixed wide open on what He is doing for others around us. God's love is perfect. God's love is so perfect in fact that sometimes what is an amazing and beautiful gift to us and is meeting a need that we have been silently crying out for or filling a void that we had yet realized was empty, is received without notice that the need ever existed or the that promise was fulfilled. You know God knows our every need before we do. Like for example, breathing is a need a VITAL NEED, it is not something we have to ask Him for every second of every day, He knew we would need it so He designed our bodies so they they could get that air. Every second that we are alive, every breath that we take is a gift from God. Think about that for a bit and really let it sink in. If every breath, every second that we are alive is a gift from God, than how could any one of us ever doubt His love for us. So in the midst of your struggles when you may have that fleeting or not so fleeting thought, "God where are you? Why have you forgotten about me?" Remember that with every breath you take, He is thinking about you, you are not forgotten. Just like He knew long before you were formed that you would need the breath you are about to take right now He knew about this season, struggle, journey you are in right now and has already made plans to bring breakthrough and provision to you. While you remember this also keep in mind your heart. What do the colors of your heart look like? Are you in this with Him or are you just in this for yourself? Are you seeking Him and choosing His ways or are you just wanting to get your way and past that you don't care? I ask this because you have free will and what you do with it determines so many of your outcomes. So what is prayer?? Is it a wish or do we take our prayers to the throne room and with a fervent and trusting heart know that He hears every word, every breath. His love for us is EXTRAVAGANT! God help us, help us, help us to walk worthy. Teach us, your children, what it means to be wildly in love with you. To run to you without restraint or reservation. To trust in you with our whole heart. Every need we have or will ever have you already put provision into motion. Your thoughts for us are greater, deeper, wider, and higher than anything we could ever imagine. So now that we got the NEED out of the way and can rest assured that they are no longer an issue of worry...can we talk about our hearts with you. Can we have conversation and love stories/letters with you that are solely about your great rapturing love for us. Your un-abandoned, unrestrained, selfless love for us... Can we talk about that!?! Friends He is good, He is Great, He is not some fairy tale WISH, He is a PROMISE.
