Value, Worth, Significance...... Did you wake up this morning asking yourself, "Do I matter?" This question can be asked in many ways, for example; Does what I do matter? Will it matter to anyone if I finish this task, show up, get out of bed today...and the list goes on. ![]() Psalm 40:5, "Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. " He says you matter, He chose you specifically for the life He has given you. Sometimes we think to ourselves thoughts like these, imagining that our very existence could only be significant if some human person living, breathing and walking in our life calls it so. I mean after all if no one thinks of me, than no one would know that I was gone. What dangerous thoughts these are and I too have fallen victim to their lies. Digging deeper and moving into a place that is beyond yourself reveals to you that the Great Almighty, the Only Living God, the One that spoke the world into existence and Breathes life into your very bones calls you His own. There is no measuring tool that can contain His love, goodness, and thoughts of you. Even the angels in heaven continue to cry out to Him, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come." Revelations 4:8. There are no words that contain His love for you. In Psalm 139 the bible speaks about God's thoughts for you. How there is never a moment in your life since before you were formed in utter seclusion to now, He has always been there. That His thoughts of you if counted are greater than the sands that outline the oceans. That moment when you felt alone as a young child, that you felt invisible as a young person, the time that you thought you were insignificant, unqualified, unworthy...look again. Peer back into the memories in your heart that bring you hurt, loneliness, emptiness and ask Him where He was, what did He think about you in those moments. Surrender the lies to Him and grasp hold of His truth about those moments in your life. What does God say about them and you in those moments. Lord, I pray that You would remind us of the times in our lives when we believed a lie about who we are, our value or significance. That you would revisit those memories with us and reveal to us your truth about whatever situation it was. That you would help us to move past ourselves to see your perspective on each and every hurt. Bringing freedom to our soul, and healing to our hearts. In Your beautiful and perfect love I pray, Amen.
